Geotechnical Drilling
SJ Drilling are specialists in geotechnical drilling with extensive experience in all aspects of ground investigation, geotechnical drilling and sampling, in-situ testing and geotechnical instrumentation.
We offer both truck and track mounted drilling rigs, all fully equipped for auger, washbore drilling, air drilling, conventional coring using NMLC, HMLC & 4C barrels and wireline coring using NQ3, HQ3, PQ3 barrels. Our rigs are all capable of inclined drilling and have capacity for larger diameter air or mud rotary if required.
All drilling rigs are equipped for geotechnical sampling and testing including U50/U63/U75 sampling, SPT testing and falling head or packer permeability testing. We can provide core orientation and downhole survey on request and are happy to work with specialist subcontractors for other in-situ testing or downhole survey.
The rigs have been designed with safety in mind and have multiple winches to minimise manual handling, fully guarded automatic SPT hammers, rotation guards with lockout and all current mine spec safety features.
Our drillers are highly experienced in geotechnical drilling and understand sample quality and test accuracy are vital. We will never sacrifice quality for quantity.
